It has been almost twenty years since The Devil Wears Prada came out, and now Anna Wintour has finally shared what she really thinks about the film.
Wintour, the longtime editor of Vogue, was the real-life inspiration for Meryl Streep’s character Miranda Priestly. Many have wondered if she felt offended or mocked by the movie.
Speaking on Vogue’s podcast The Run-Through, Wintour said she actually enjoyed it. She called the film “very humorous” and praised the acting, especially from Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt. She also said the story felt fair, even if it was exaggerated in places.
The film has followed Wintour for years and shaped how the public sees her. But instead of being upset, she seems to view it as fun entertainment rather than a personal attack.
Wintour recently announced she is stepping down after more than 30 years at Vogue. She will be replaced by journalist Chloë Malle.
